First band DX Century Club

ES2IPA Igor is my 100 DXCC confirmed on LoTW on 20m. I had a QSO with Z21BB Fernando today on 20m and he is rapid QSLer on LoTW , his QSL is my 99`th on that band. I have 172 countries worked on 14Mhz. I wanted to apply for this award. It will be my first one. I can also abtain DXCC in Mixed category and CW .... but it will cost me in total $103.20 ... hmm bit too expensive , we will wait for some sort of SALE hi hi :)

Fixed SWR for 12m band.

Today I had to play a bit with my antenna cable. I wasn`t happy with SWR on 24Mhz. Last weekend I was trying to work ZD7XF Nigel on 12m but no luck. During my attempt I saw SWR is not good. Today after small modification on cable lenght SWR is better on that band and .... Saint Helena worked! I`m lucky to put Nigel into my log twice today. On 10m and 12m.

First Jamaica and St Helena on 14Mhz

Rainer DL2AAZ is operating now from Jamaica as 6Y2X. For me it will be new DXCC on HF as I don`t have 2-way QSO with this country. Few weeks ago I was trying to make a QSO with 6Y5WJ but no luck , he got my call and report but I didn`t get my raport back. When I was trying ZD7XF for new DXCC on 20m  I`ve decided to try Jamaica in SSB and I`ve turn my antenna to Caribbean ... I had turn my antenna via north. Just two calls and 6Y2X logged! Went back to Nigel`s frequency and gave him a call when my antenna was turning back from Caribbean direction into St Helena ... when antenna was pointed around North Pole he pick-up my call !!! Repeated few times as antenna was turning into his position on Atlantic Ocean ..... and finally got me RR EI9KC 599 , UFF Thank you for patience Nigel. Great CW operator!

Market Reef

Years ago when I`ve worked my first Market Reef on 11m it was big day. Because it is not easy to operate from prefix on 11m. Today when I am on HAM bands radio signal from border island is very often on the frequencies. It is good. Nice prefix and always welcome in my logbook. Just contacted OJ0B Finnish team on the island , QSO on 30m and this is new DXCC on 10Mhz for me. Beautiful signal in my location. Here is a small video.

Denmark new eQSL AG

Nice QSO today on 28Mhz with OV9SH Svenn from Denmark and very fast eQSL. My new DXCC in eQSL. Many thanks Svenn.

Short skip on 28Mhz

Nice opening this evening on 28Mhz. A made a few good QSO with EU stations. Interesting one was OJ0VM Harry transmiting from Market Reef. He is working with other members of The Finnish Lighthouse Society and they are repairing lighthouse buildings there. Market Reef is my new DXCC on 28Mhz. I`ve logged also few station from South East England on 10m. Good short skip opening on 28Mhz. I had two QSOs on 6m as well. One was my longest so far! YL2GP 1994km distance :) I`m not a big fan of 6m yet but is good to try make some contacts on that band.

100 DXCC on eQSL

Today in my eQSL inbox card from 9V1SV Siva from Singapore, he is my 100 DXCC confirmed by electronic QSL cards. 97 AG (Authenticity Guaranteed) and 3 Non-AG (Belarus , Croatia , Mali). Belarus and Croatia no problems, Mali TZ6TR is the only station active from Mali at the moment and eQSL non-AG is the only way to get QSO confirmed.

Friday 3 June 2011

Singapore on 18Mhz

New DXCC on HF worked today on 17m. 9V1SV Siva from Singapore. SSB. Nice one but was hard. I was calling about 1h. Uff ... Tried also PP0T on 15m but no luck this time. Signal was good but pile-up wasn`t bad as well.

Thursday 2 June 2011

Trindade and Martim Vaz Island

PP0T fantastic DXCC worked today! At last! , few good days waiting for it. I was trying CW, RTTY, SSB. No luck. Signal was too small for QSO with 100W and atenna just 3m above the ground. Today finnaly Trindade and Martim Vaz Island, Brand New DXCC , never worked before on the radio, logged on 14Mhz SSB. 100W. My antenna was about 6m high and PY2ZA - Junior got my KC. But that was to little for QSO. I ran to my garden to give my antenna 9m height and that was it! EI9KC logged!

Mali in the Net

Great QSOs on 40m tonight. It was my second attempt to work Tom TZ6TR from Mali in West Africa. Few weeks ago Tom didn`t copy my station, this time 5/5! It was NET operation. NET operator was Roger ON7TQ and station from Netherlands in EA5. (sorry I missed your call-sign). In the same time on the frequency was Danny ZP5DBC worked tonight on 10m as well. So summary New DXCC on HF - Mali and New DXCC on 40m - Paraguay. Everything on dipole antenna and 100W. Night to remember!

Wednesday 1 June 2011

Brand New Mauritania

Long time I was waiting for QSO with Jean 5T0JL from Mauritania. He is very active on the bands , mostly on 17m around 18.069 Mhz last few weeks. CW only. Tonight his signal was very loud, my S-meter was dancing with his CW melody and pile-up wasn`t bad and I was lucky to have a short QSO with him. Brand New DXCC for me. Never worked before on the radio. Nice one! Many thanks Jean I hope to catch you another time on another band hi hi!

Here is a video how strong he was in my QTH (with PRE AMP 2)

Late Corsica on 28Mhz

TK4LS Laurent from Corsica Island logged today on 28Mhz. New DXCC on 10m and nice QSO at 21:00 local time. Good opening on TEN. And very fast eQSL and LoTW TU!
